Summary of Duties

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on a weekly basis as indicated by operating manual.
  • Observe, test, and assess the operation of machines to detect the cause of malfunction.
  • Talk with operators and supervisors about machinery and maintenance problems.
  • Read and follow blueprints, sketches, diagrams, lubrication charts, operation manuals and
    engineering specifications.
  • Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • Repair, replace, and align machinery and equipment parts, using tools such as
    screwdrivers, electrical test meters, wrenches and hoists.
  • Clean and lubricate machine parts.
  • Use catalogs to order replacement parts, or if not available, may sketch the needed part
    and have it fabricated by a machine shop.
  • Test machines to ensure repairs are made per specification.
  • Take apart and reassemble machinery parts as required.
  • Follow all company policies, department standard operating procedures, API and ISO procedures, and any other verbal or written instructions.
  • Work in a safe manner and use all appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) for job.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays, to support production requirements.
  • Provide training for new department members as required.

Education / Training / Experience

  • Prefer High School or GED
  • Technical training and related certifications are a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently handles and lifts material ranging from 5 to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, oil, and coolant.   Personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, and must be used to protect from any personal exposure to contaminants.
  • Requires standing or walking most of the time, plus frequent bending and reaching.  Occasional stooping or climbing is required.
  • Must have good vision, for both close up work, and distance.
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions, plus hear emergency instructions

  • Ability to train other employees in safe and efficient methods of production.
