It takes more than a drop in oil prices to stop producers in the world’s most active shale play. South Texas’ Eagle Ford is a big play with major players. This elite play is not immune to the current business cycle though. According to Baker Hughes, Eagle Ford rig count is down over 50% year over year. Yet with the latest efficiency-driven technologies and processes, engineers have found a way to drive breakeven costs below $30 in the best locations.
